Clinical Supervision with Sheila Maitland, LCMHCS

Supervision is the opportunity to put it all together and decide where you are going. It should be exciting, relevant, helpful and defining as the new clinician begins to step into their own clarity and confidence. Supervision is highly interactive and allows the new clinician to own their case conceptualization and explore how to co-lead with their client & treatment team. Exquisite listening and asking relevant questions is where we begin.

Clinical Supervision is delivered in an individual and/or triadic format. It can also be delivered in a group format. Sheila offers both of these experiences.

Clinical Supervision is an important part of the licensure process. Much like a therapeutic relationship, supervision is all about the fit. One must feel comfortable and confident about who they obtain their supervision from. It is important that both parties, the Supervisor and Supervisee feel good with the arrangement. In light of this, it’s important to meet and discuss expectations, hopes and goals. Sheila offers this initial consultation at no charge, to get a feel for whether or not to step into the process.

Sheila is a NCBLCMHCS approved Supervisor and enjoys assisting provisionally licensed associates to become fully licensed. She has helped several LCMHC-A’s navigate the process and create/find meaningful work. She has also helped several newly licensed therapists with opening their private practice, finding and creating their niche.

In addition to providing individual and triadic supervision, I also provide group supervision. A supervisee is able to obtain 25 of their required 100 hours in a group setting. This allows for interactive learning that is less expensive than individual or triadic supervision. It is also more dynamic as issues and concepts arise that are powerful and profound. It serves as an incredible teaching/learning opportunity. For more information about the group supervision, contact Sheila.

Clinical Supervision with Jessica Evans, LCSW, LCAS

Individual, Group, and Intensive Therapy. Supervision. Consultation.

Trauma and addictions specialist utilizing somatic and experiential modalities.

Jessica strives to be an ethical, realistic, creative, and fun supervisor for those seeking their LCSW licensure. She enjoys providing case consultation for colleagues already licensed but in need of a safe space to process, obtain another professional’s viewpoint, and get fresh ideas for interventions. Her specializations include treating trauma and addiction using somatic and experiential modalities.

Jessica has worked in the field since 2014 treating trauma, substance use disorders, high acuity mental illness, and eating disorders. She has worked in private practice, community mental health, emergency psychiatry, and dual diagnosis inpatient and outpatient treatment centers. She has years of experience and trainings in utilizing somatic modalities, psychodrama, experiential therapy, polyvagal techniques, DBT and CBT, family systems, crisis intervention, and Brainspotting. Having a safe supervision space where she can be a “normal” human, freely process and own her counter transference, and have direct guidance with autonomy has been essential for the health of her own practice.

Jessica attended the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill for her undergrad in Psychology and obtained her Master’s degree from Florida Atlantic University. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist. Jessica offers direct, respectful, thoughtful, and creative feedback to her supervisees. She is skilled in providing creative ways to engage clients when they appear “shut down”, “difficult”, “resistant”, or the therapist feels stuck. Experiential therapy and group work are her favorite to facilitate and teach.
