Annie Turk, Intern

Hi, I’m Annie! I am committed to building compassionate therapeutic relationships in a safe and encouraging environment where you can feel seen and heard. You are the expert of your life, so we will work together to create a space where all parts of you are free to shine and grow. I love working with people of all ages and stages of life through creative and collaborative approaches as you navigate your healing journey.

How I Help:

As someone who has been on my own mental health journey with anxiety, one of the most transformative things I have learned is that progress is not linear. I earned my Bachelor’s in Communications Studies and worked in marketing after college, but I never let go of the part of me that craved helping others in ways that counselors had helped me before. Now, back at UNC Charlotte as a Master’s in Counseling student with concentrations in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Play Therapy, I find helping others discover their strengths and developing deeper connections with themselves to be incredibly rewarding, as I know that my past self would be proud. I am excited to work together with you to help you on your journey toward self-compassion and healing through reflecting on life and giving yourself room for mistakes.

More About Me:

In my free time, as a person with a never-ending list of hobbies I want to try, you can find me needlepointing, ice skating (finally learned to spin), or recreating whatever craft I discover that day. I love spending time with my friends, family, and my two dogs as we explore all parts of Charlotte.
